The absolute beginner’s guide to social media

Social media has become a standard in many marketers’ tool belt, but some remain behind – where to start without being intimidated.

social media marketing

Although many professionals in the industry are well versed in social media, there are those who remain back at the starting line, whether due to trepidation or time management, or simply because past systems have worked just fine.

Seth Price, a 20-year digital marketing veteran and VP of Marketing at real estate website provider, Placester is chin-deep in real estate social media marketing every day.

Price notes that “The inbound marketing wave has hit the real estate industry in a huge way over the past few years. Cold-calling is (thankfully) the way of the past, while buying leads remains as much of a gamble now as it was during the early days of the internet.”

“Today,” he continues,” it’s undeniably essential for real estate agents to set up a search-optimized real estate website, get an email marketing strategy up and running, and meet and greet your audience on social media — the latter of which helps countless real estate agents generate leads, build connections, and — ultimately — improve their bottom lines.”

But where to start?

Price notes that whether you’re a beginner agent who’s finally saved enough to make real estate sales a full-time job or a seasoned veteran who’s been helping folks close home deals for years, social media is a must-use resource.

Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, and LinkedIn (among other growing social platforms) offer agents something unique: a relatively informal, but supremely efficient way to engage with their audience, learn their pain points, and develop long-term relationships that can lead to more closed deals.

In Placester’s new graphic (below), they “detail the numerous benefits of joining in on the social revolution, the keys to effectively engage users on each channel, and how to optimize each respective social network to grow an effective following. From what kind of voice to use when conversing with your audience to stats that show just how effective a marketing tool social media really is, check out all the reasons you need to sign up for your social business accounts today and start generating more business opportunities.”
